How to Log In and Use Your Library Account

• Select the card catalog/my account tab in the main menu bar.
• Log in with your library card number. Please call the Valentine Public Library at 402-376-3160 if you are unsure of your card number. Your password is the phone number on your library card account with no dashes. 402 area codes do not need the 402 but all other area codes need the area code.
• Select “My Account” in the upper right-hand side of the screen.
• You have options to update your phone number and email, how you receive notifications, view items that are currently out, renew books, check your history, reserve items, or see if you have previously checked a title out.

Renew Items: You can renew any item currently checked out unless it is on reserve for another library patron or you have exceeded the maximum number of renewals. You won’t be able to renew any items if your card is expired or you have a fine.

History of Items Checked Out: Selecting the “History” button will generate a list of all books you have checked out from the Valentine Public Library. You can download this as an Excel spreadsheet for your records.

Reserve a Book: Use the search bar in the upper left-hand side of the card catalog to search by title or subject. When you find the title you want to reserve, select the “reserve this item” button. You will reserve a notification from the library when your item is ready to be picked up. You won’t be able to reserve any items if your card is expired or you have a fine.

Wondering if you have checked an item out before? When viewing a title, the words “previously checked out on…” will appear under the title.
