Friends of the Library Puzzle Tournament Recap
The Valentine Public Library’s Friends of the Library Puzzle Tournament on January 18th was a fantastic success! Puzzle enthusiasts of all ages came together for a day filled with fun, teamwork, and a little friendly competition.
The morning session featured 12 two-person teams racing to complete a 500-piece puzzle as quickly as possible. In the afternoon event, four four-person teams tackled a 1,000-piece puzzle, testing their patience and puzzle-solving skills.
It was wonderful to see so many participants enjoying the challenge and working together. A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and special appreciation to the Friends of the Library for organizing this amazing event!

500-Piece Puzzle Tournament Winners
First Place – Team Gettin’ Jiggy With It: Shannon Broom & Brandi Jarrett with an impressive time of 64 minutes and 7 seconds!
Second Place – Team Stephens: Kayla Stephens & Marilyn Stephens finishing in 71 minutes and 59 seconds!
Third Place – Team Missing Piece: Heidi Doyle & Bridger Doyle securing their spot in 83 minutes and 36 seconds!
1,000-Piece Puzzle Tournament Winners
1st Place – “Team Gettin’ Jiggy with It!”
Shannon Broom, Brandi Jarrett, Carol Shepler, and Lori Lurz completed their 1000-piece puzzle in 2 hours and 42 minutes!
2nd Place – “Piece Be With You”: Andy Krueger, Brook Brashears, Kara Brashears, and Vicki Armstrong placed 883 pieces in their puzzle before time ran out.
3rd Place – “Puzzled”: Sarah Schumacher, Cathy Morris, Jamie Qualley, and Louise Mayhew finished with 856 pieces placed in the puzzle before time ran out.
4th Place – Donna Marsh, Butch Marsh, Jane Sherman, and Diane Connot
