The Friends of the Library are thrilled to announce our Gingerbread Haunted House Decorating Challenge\, and we want YOU to be a part of it! \n \nPrizes will be awarded in EACH age division\, so whether you’re a young pumpkin carver or a seasoned trick-or-treater\, there’s a category for you. Divisions: Child ages 5-7\, Child 8-12\, Teen 13-18\, and Adult 18+. But wait\, there’s more… We’re also giving special recognition to the best LITERARY-THEMED gingerbread house! Imagine bringing your favorite book to life in sugary\, spooky style! \nHere’s how it works:\nDrop off your masterpiece between October 23-27 at Valentine Public Library. Entries must be a free-standing gingerbread or edible structure measuring no larger than 18 x 18 and attached to a base. Join us at the Scare in the Square event on October 31 to see all of the incredible entries on display and find out who the winners are! \nDon’t miss this chance to showcase your baking and decorating skills while celebrating the magic of literature.
