FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Chapter One
The "Friends of the Valentine Public Library" was founded to provide volunteers to assist the library, to provide volunteer support and to provide a channel for individuals to express ideas for library use and services. Friends will also help the library in raising funds to meet special library needs that fall outside of the annual budget. They will aid the library in promoting knowledge of library programs and special events. Friends are a part of the process of building up the importance of the library in the community. Friends of the Valentine Public Library are just that, FRIENDS.
The Plot Thickens
The following are just a few of the ideas proposed by members of the Friends of the Valentine Public Library. We encourage you to become a "Friend" and join in the fun.
Gift Baskets...The Friends of the Valentine Public Library are creating book-centered gift baskets that will be for sale at the library. There are baskets available for all ages and occasions. One of these baskets may be the perfect gift for someone you know. All proceeds from the sale of the baskets will go to Friends and benefit the library.
The Friends worked long and hard to assist the library in the completion of the recent renovation project. Not only did they contribute financially but they also provided manpower when necessary. Now the Friends continue to use their funds to assist the library in the purchase of items that will benefit the function of the library and that might fall outside of what the library can afford through the annual budget. The library always needs friends and support. Won't you consider being a Friend to your library? We would love to have you.
Annual membership is available at three levels in the Friends of the Valentine Public Library. Members are encouraged to join at the level that is most comfortable for them.
